Don't Let Your Dog Chew These

Dogs are amazing natural chewers and it's one of the things they do to relieve stress, and cure boredom, and it's downright fun for them.

Without something decent to chew on, your dog's teeth can quickly build up bacteria that can lead to health problems like tooth decay or gum disease, tooth loss, and invasive, expensive dental surgery.

But did you know there are some common things dogs love to chew, that are actually very dangerous? Most of these common objects are probably in your backyard. In today's post, we list 4 things you should avoid your dog chewing.

    1. Water bottles

Dogs love chewing on water bottles, but there are some serious dangers that can arise from this. The cap of the bottle could come off and be swallowed by your dog which may lead to a blockage or sharp pieces cutting their gums when they chew it up!

    2. Stones

Dogs often get the chance for long periods of downtime, so sometimes boredom can be an issue. There have been many cases of dogs trying to swallow stones thinking they're treats ending in choking and obstructions.

    3. Rawhide

They are cheap, they last a long time, but rawhide has a terrible history of being made with very questionable ingredients like leftover scraps from the leather and fur industries.

If ingested in large quantities, this can block up the digestive system and cause stomach or bowel problems for your dog.

    4. Tennis balls

One of the most common things in any backyard is tennis balls, and dogs love to chew them up, however, did you know that the tennis ball material can actually file down dogs' teeth over time. Especially the K9s that pierce the ball and rub the textured material.  The gas inside tennis balls is also toxic to dogs.

So, now that we've discussed what to avoid, what's the best thing to give them to chew on?
