10 Ways To Boost Your Dog’s Kibble

    1. Eggs

Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet owing to their high natural protein content. It also contains good amounts of Vitamin A, B12, iron, and biotin.

You can also give them the shell as it is rich in calcium and potassium which is good for bones and teeth though you should only give it to them when you have naturally-sourced farm fresh eggs.

    2. Goat’s milk

This option is a good way to give your dog milk as it contains no lactose that could upset their stomach. It has natural probiotic properties that are great for preventing allergies and promoting gut health.

    3. Canned or Raw Oily Fish

Fishes are a great way to give them essential Omega-3 fatty acids that could help dogs have healthy coats and skin and also help reduce inflammations.

Choose fishes like mackerel, sardines, herring, smelt, or anchovies as they tend to contain lesser to no amounts of mercury. Feed them 1 ounce for every 35 pounds of your dog’s weight every 2-3 times a week.

    4. Veggies

This addition is great in giving their food a touch of variety and taste. Leafy greens contain little sugar and are low in carbohydrates which is good in keeping their ideal weights.

They are high in fiber which is beneficial for healthy stooling. Remember to steam it first or puree veggies first so it would be easier for them to absorb essential nutrients.

    5. Berries

Just like us humans, dogs do benefit a lot from antioxidants. Berries are great additions to give them a boost of nutrients and fight toxins accumulating in their bodies.

Each day, rotate berries like strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, and blackberries to keep your dogs excited.

    6. Pumpkin

Pumpkin is rich in natural Vitamin A that could help your dog maintain good eyesight and brain function.

Vitamin A is a must-have in dog nutrition; even though the kibble you bought tells you it is complete in nutrition, it is not too bad a little bit of extra.

    7. Bone broth

Adding bone broth to your dog’s kibble is a nutritious way to rehydrate it. Kibbles tend to be dry, and they could suck water out of your dog’s body as they digest it. Bone broth is easy to make and rich in nutrients like collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin.

    8. Coconut oil

We hear a lot about the benefits of coconut oil, so it was a good idea to give them natural coconut oil. It is rich in MCT, a nutrient that rehydrates skin and coat.

It also contains lauric acid, a nutrient praised for its ability to fight infections and diseases.

    9. Raw meat

Pet Snacks are advocates of healthy raw feeding. Raw meat is a great addition that could make simple kibbles a thousand times better. Rich and densely packed with nutrients, you cannot go wrong with these, but be sure to ask your vet first and do proper research to know what’s best to add.

β€œAt dinner time, I usually add a spoon or two of the raw food topper in Abby's food. She would finish her food quickly and even lick clean her bowl. The raw food topper makes plain food extra flavorsome and yummy for her.”
